Hello guys
To make the long story short - I have basicaly 4 controllers
1) M-audio project mix ( using as main mixer)
2) MPD 24 Pad controller ( for drum sampler)
3) M-audio 61keystation - (basically simple keyboard controller)
4) Novation 49Sl Compact - (also keyboard with some extra buttoms)
Anyways when all those controllers are activated in
logic/preferences/control surface they work as one controller.
For example - both keyboards controlling same thing - depending on which keyboard
I play.
What I’m trying to find out if I can assign one keyboard to VST on one track ,second keyboard to another VST on another track and possibly pad controller to third drum track - so for example 3. people can independently play 3. different tracks with their VST-s.
With live instruments it’s a piece of cake - but in this case since all 3. named controllers have USB so I’m not sure how to do it?
I did my research - went through all Logics Enviroment stuff, Even Logic’s 8 Controll surface guide but nothing has really helped me .

If anybody has got experience with this chalenge I would really appreciate your feedback.
Thanks for your time.
Milan

sounds like you need to set the keyboards up so they are transmitting on different midi channels and instrument tracks to match. it is possible that the instruments are setup to receive on 'All' channels, so when you strike a key it triggers a sound on all the instrument tracks that are inserted ( not meaning to be condescending if you already have this set up correctly). Automation and parameter control on the other hand is just a bit more complicated; the SL compact should be a piece of the proverbial piss to set up, I thought that was the point of it (click a control; twiddle a knob) but the other control surfaces will require some more complex configuration in the logic environment and automation settings. My setup is very simple by comparison and i'm using an environment map that my friend had already set up to use my Microkorg and I just pasted it into my environment. I'm sure someone here will be able to point you in the right direction for an answer to this. Have you searched the other threads on this forum for any current info?

Sorry I couldn't beof more help

Milca... VST's???

VST and Logic 8???

I lost all VST use when I moved from Logic 6.

Whassup wit dat, a typo or does Logic 8 do VST now???

Hi Mac Daddy,

must be a typo definately no VST's; at least not directly sometimes there still is a VST folder in the system directory and the plugs that havent been written directly as an audio unit, instead they aer ported as a vst and then an audio unit is written as a control interface. at least thats the way I understand it with my rudimentary knowledge. rolleyes.gif

Yep I just checked to see that it hadn't gone since I last had to fiddle around in there, and its still there eevn has some quite recent plugs in there. There are however mny more in my Audio Unit/Components Folder.
