Hi,
I just recently discovered this exciting world .sf2 files; and would like to use them inside of Logic's EXS24 sampler. I've read the plug-in reference manual, and I've even seen this subject on a post from a couple of years ago. Both sources mentioned placing the .sf2 file inside of the Sampler Instruments folder via Library/ Application Support/ Logic/ Sampler Instruments then open up the EXS 24 and the file should show in drop down menu of the sampler. Nah.... it hasn't worked. All of the other Sampler Instruments show but the .sf2 doesn't. Can anyone who has used .sf2 files explain to me how they used them inside of the EXS24? What could I possibly be doing wrong? I would really appreciate any feedback on this topic. There' s seem to be very little information on how to do this, if it's even possible. Thanks, derok |

Hey Ron,
Thanks for your help. I did try placing an sf2 in the ~/Library/Application Support/ Logic/Sampler Instruments/ folder and it WAS recognized in the EXS24; BUT the folders that were used are in HD Library...as a matter of fact all of the EXS samples are in the Sample Instruments folder via the HD Library. I initially started this thread because I was trying to load a Digital Sound Factory free sf2, that still isn't being recognized by the EXS24. I would love to purchase these E-mu module sf2's that they have done, but I am reluctant if they don't function inside of the EXS24. I would appreciate any comments from Logic users who happen to be using these Digital Sound Factory sf2's. What working methods are you using in order to use their sf2's? Are they showing up inside of YOUR EXS24? If not, what opitions have worked best for using these DSF files in Logic. Thanks to all for your help and comments. derok |
