Essentially I know the sped up soul sample is teetering on being played out and the fact that I'm now trying to learn it, only speeds that process along. Anyway, I've figured out a couple different ways to achieve this sound, all get me close, but none really get me what I'm after. There is the simple adding of the Pitch Shifter plug in or the vocal transformer and then there is the way of actually speeding the tempo up and consequently the pitch by the adjusting region to locators method, which can only speed up the sample to 60%. All of the above sort of work. But the problem is none of them sound crisp...is there a trick I don't know of? I added a high pass filter which smoothed it out a bit, but not all that much. It's a tall order, but I would love if someone could walk me through the way that they do it, if they have any little tricks or secret plug-ins/templates that they use (Native to Logic) .....I may not have the eqipment to get it pristine, but I'm fairly certain I can get it closer then where I have it now.
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thanks All!! |

Yes, when you create a new sampler instrument and load the audio file, simply don't tick the "Disable Pitch" option and the sample will be playable at different pitches / speeds up and down the keyboard. I believe the default setting is for the original pitch to be played back at C3.
Creating new Sampler instruments is covered on page 522 of the Logic Plug-In reference guide. One benefit of this technique is that higher frequencies will be boosted as a side effect of the process. I'm not sure "sped" is a word though. Ce message a été modifié par Jim Hoyland - sam. 16 déc. 2006, 13:28. -------------------- www.myspace.com/commercialmusicstudios
