I have been playing with various audio packages on my G4.
I have been lucky enough to acquire another G4 and would like to link both of them together to get the most from my home studio.
My main package is Pro tools 7.
I also have a couple of other programs that I use occasionally.
Am I limited to just sharing files between the 2 computers if I connect them with an ethernet cable or can I get one of them to share a bit of the load when I'm working?

Any help or guidance would be welcome - I am afraid that I am not very competent in this area.

Thanks

You might want to take a look at a MacIntel, they have enough power so that you don't need a Logic node.
The issue is 3rd party plugs that are Intel compatible.

The Logic node will only work with the integrated logic instruments, and effects.

currently I'm using a 1GHz powermac as my main machine, no problems with sessions of 32-48 tracks using virtual instruments exclusively using Logic and DP.

Both apps have a freeze feature that allows you to free up CPU for more effects and instruments. Recently picked a Core Duo mini for evaluation/ transition machine.

So far I haven't needed to freeze tracks on that machine, or even come close to needing a Logic node.
the mini is basically a repackaged Macbook.
