I plan to record midi soft -synths and guitar, maybe bass - at home . Phase 2 would be to take my mac - or seperate firewire drive, to a Pro Tools equipped studio to record vocals , process the individual tracks with pro tools plug ins (doubt if I could afford a studio full of vintage outboard) and do the final mix in the studio.
Ive got cubase l.e at present, but want to make a quick switch to either Logic Express. Digital Performer or Pro Tools l.e (the M powered route). I wondered if the more experienced Mac users and musicians-producers had a preference and briefly why. I d really appreciate any feedback on this. Thanks in advance Phil |

If you are more of a composer, logic and DP have full feature set when compared to PTLE.
I could never live with the track limit in PTLE. I've been known to use up 18 tracks for drums and percussion. With Logic you could have up the 225 stereo tracks. I currently use Logic Express ans my main DAW, and Garage Band as a quick scracth pad. Then I load the GB song into logic to finnish. I also have DP4 it's a fine app also, but i've fallen in love with the logic synths. -------------------- G-Dub
