hey, can anyone answer me this? just recently i bought a used dual g4 powermac on ebay because i want to run Pro tools version 5 on OS9 so i can get access to a bunch of plug ins that i only can get access using PT vs5. up until today i've been currently using version 6.4 on my powerbook with an mbox. i was wondering if i could use the mbox as the interface to run PT version 5 on the powermac? anyone know if this will work? if not, i'm getting a 001 interface soon because i know that works, but i was trying to avoid getting another interface, but i think i might need the pci card with 001 in order to access OS9 and vs 5 of PT? can anyone share any advice or suggestions? please!!!

i was pretty sure i could run PT 5.2.1 but my mbox didn't come with any version of 5 because i bought it shortly after they moved on to version 6. unfortunate for me, it seems like it was to be specificly 5.2.1, and my friend gave me version 5.1. what a bummer, so close, yet so far. is there a way that i can download or receive a copy of vs 5.2.1 from the digi site or some other way? please let me know...thanks!
thanks abcdaniel, for the reply and helpfull info. anyone else care to share some words of wisdom or thoughts/ideas on this subject? i'd really appreciate it. thanks |
