Heya,
wonder what you guys would answer to my question...

I currently use Logic Pro 6 and ProTools TDM MIX 5.1.1 on a G4, 733, 1G RAM...

I'm still on OS 9.2... can't buy many new great soft instruments and stuff...

A guy I know recomends that I install OS X Tiger on it and uprgade ProTools software... but I'd heard before that my computer is too weak to handle OS X...

Should I look for a faster G4, like dual 867 or a 1.33?

What are your experiences?

Best regards to ya all...

Pete

At the studio i have been tracking at, they use a dual 450, and even then after a while, things tend to crash. I just got myself a dual 1Ghz G4, and it runs like a charm...i had Pro Tools open for 7 hours straight once while working with 16 tracks, adding plugins all over the place, editing, tracking live, etc and i had no problems whatsoever. I'd suggest going Dual 1Ghz or greater, you really can't go wrong....and, yes, i use Panther, although i'm considering getting Tiger and going to Pro Tools 7, as soon as all the bugs are worked out!
