Hello, I was wondering what I should buy to score a film. I know that Logic just came out with a program for osx, which I want to but. Does anyone know the price for that? I wanted to know if Logic was efficient for scoring a film.

I also heard that I need to get a multi-track sound editor.
does anyone know of a good one for osx?

I value all of your opinions. I want something that is going to be optimal for scoring a film. I don't care as much about sounds as I care about versatiliy and something I can use to edit a professional piece of music.
I have Intuem right now, a very easy to use, simple program, but I want to upgrade to a professional program soon. Does Logic come with a multirack sound editor that would be proficient for scoring a film?

thanks for listening. - jeff

Sure, if you can afford it get Platinum. Then there's nothing you can't do and there's nothing you'll be missing. It really is the cream of the crop for good reason.

Yes, it's expensive (c.£500 in the UK), yes it's complicated but yes it's amazing. OS X version available now (I've just started using it). I was using it under OS 9 before that, obviously.

It's such an immense program that you'll probably nver master it completely and there are plenty of functions that I never use that other people probably use all the time. But I achieve everything I need to do, so that suits me just fine.

Steep learning curve: great reward at the end!

Bias Deck costs less, I'm pretty sure of that. Maybe £300?
