hiya, first time poster... aint got a mac (yet?) im still tossing up on what sort of notebook i should get, PC or MAC (im sure u folks will say MAC immediately) fair enough.. HOWEVER

the music i write i use (at the moment, willing to try other software out there) is

Reason 2.5 (which i know is out on mac too)

Fruity Loops (which i know is strictly pc only)

Adobe Audition/Cool Edit Pro 2.0

now... What i wanna know is, is there an almost-identical and as practical alternative to Fruity Loops, and Adobe Audition/Cool Edit on the macintosh? if so? then the scales may tilt towards a mac more than pc biggrin.gif

hi guys, sorry about opening this post again, but this is really bothering me.. well.. not really, but well... okay... reason 3? excellent! happy to have purchased it!

now i've tried peak 4, and i've tried dsp quattro, two being the closest to adobe audition (cool edit) i've seen. sadly, it just isn't as compatible with audio and what not as adobe audition, for people out there that haven't used it before? trust me, if (wishful thinking) that adobe releases audition for osx, audio editing/multi-track music-writing & sound editing will never be the same, life-changing as some say...

and i went with a powerbook g4 beast!!! biggrin.gif

im sure other people out there are looking for a feature-packed audio editing tool like peak, which works, and can convert any format to any format too... another thing...

on windows, i used to create stochastic noises by throwing system files into an audio editing program, converting it to sound (as the application could not read the file) which thus then created some creepy, and sinister noises.
