Hey Mac-Dee,
The powerbook (if it is the new Aluminum) has a single DVI out so you can connect a single monitor to it, but you would still be able to use the built in LCD display as well. I have a similar set up with PowerBook Al and a 23" cinema display and have found it to be a great combination. If your G4 PowerBook is a Ti book you will have a single VGA output and would need to get a VGA -> DVI adapter to use one of the cinema displays, such as: DVI Female to VGA Male Adapter Again, this will give you two monitors, the built in 15" LCD and the external cinema display.
