Hi,
I have an Akai S2000 sampler and a G4 Mac, OS 9.
Mesa II is not working. It doesn't recognize the sampler. Is there any newer software that could play the role of Mesa?

I've got an S2000 also, which I have connected via SCSI to my mac. As well as using the Mesa software I also transfer samples to the Akai from Digital Performer. It obviously doesn't (or the old version of DP I've got doesn't) have all the functionality to set up programs like Mesa does, but it's fine for sample transfer.

Just a thought, if you've got the S2000 connected up to the Mac over SCSI, have you got Mesa set to the SCSI channel that is set up in the S2000? Do you have other SCSI devices using the same channel as the sampler?

I had a look fairly recently for a new version of MESA or an equivalent, as when I get the G5 with OS X it won't run anymore. I think I may go for Mach 5 for sampling duties then.

If you're looking for the Mesa software it can be found here. Mesa II v1.20 seems to be the last version:
