I am using a Tascam US122 as Audio USB interface and a Ibook (G3). Can anyone recommend a cheap multitrack recording program (with some minor editing capabilites).

Thanks, Jan

Try "Metro" from, http://www.sagantech.biz/ -- it's cheap as such things go.
Havent tried it myself, but many people recommend it.

I think you can download a demo at:
http://www.sagantech.biz/downloads/downloads.shtml

Thanks Dixiechicken, I checked out the website, downloaded the demo played with it and it looks like what I am after! Only wondering how MB hungry the tracks will be, since I will use it mainly for recording audio, and less for sequencing. The good thing is that the SE version runs on the G3 ibook.
By the way, did some 'market research' for these programs but never came accros Metro before, shows how good this forum works! Thanks again for your help.

MB-hunger is dictated from the sampling frequency and bit resolution depth.

Example:
1 hour of digital audio in stereo with cd-quality
is 600 Mb of harddrive space.

That is: 44-KHz sampling frequency
Resolution is: 16 bits

Changing the sapmling freq to 88KHz will double the size of the audio file.
Changing resolution to 24 bits will increase the size with some 300Mb

Cheers: Dixiechicken
