I want to experiment with sound to midi conversion. I have alot of fun with Melody Assistant and want to create melodies by singing or playing a real instrument. I talked to the Band-in a -box people and they don't have Mac. software for converting wave files to midi. Is there an easy. free way to experiment with this idea?

Wave Files are audio files, but Midi Files aren't audio files (Midi contains computer commands and process control and not a sound !)
So normally you can't convert wave file in Midi file (in fact, the possibility exists for monophonic sounds but with complex and expansive programs). On the other hand you can convert Midi file to audio file (wave, aiff...) with Quick time for example. -------------------- |

Yes. but you CAN convert a melody to midi, yes?
Where can I get a free ver. of Cubase? This has a plug in for what i want, i.e., a way to convert an analog recorded melody to midi. |

QUOTE (ronkleim @ Jul 4 2003, 12:07) to convert an analog recorded melody to midi. Some people spoke about that in a thread on the french side... I'll try to find out that information again -------------------- |
