Are there any VST or MAS plug-ins for eq-ing audio downloaded from audio cassettes to filter the tape hiss, etc.? I am using PeakDV and AudioDesk.

If you like Peak, Bias (http://www.bias-inc.com/) has a rather new product called SoundSoap. This is what it does (copied from the Bias website): • Removes unwanted hiss, background noise, room noise, rumble, and 50 & 60Hz hum • "Learn" feature allows creation of user presets for various types of noise • Requires no understanding of complicated digital signal processing • SoundSoap is a native (CPU powered) plug-in - no additional hardware required! • With only two knobs, anyone can use Sound Soap!
There is also Ray Gun from Arboretum Systems. I run an RTAS version of it, but I think it's also available as VST. It's a nice plug, but as we all know, you can never remove noise without loosing something in the process (quoting from Damann: "garbage in - garbage out").

I bought Bias's SoundSoap to use with Peak, and I think it's a worthless piece of software. Out of more than 100 tries on different recordings, I haven't been able to do anything with it. Not only that, but the "Learn Noise" feature seems to consistently learn more useful noise than useless noise.
Is Ray Gun available for OS X yet?

After reading this post, I downloaded the Montage/Ray Gun Pro demo from Arboretum...
This thing is SO much better than SoundSoap. I don't even know how much it costs, but for my needs, I'm buying it no matter what.
Great program!
