I love the sounds in Reason! In my opinion..., they're second to none. As for the sequencer in Reason..., well, this is a different story. I think the reason sequencer sucks & doesn't do justice for the over all package. Anyway..., does anyone know if it might be at all possible to use Reason as a software sound source/virtual synth. in another application (in my case Studio Vision Pro.)? Just wondering.
Thanks

Reason can be used along with almost every Audio/Midi sequencers via Rewire (DP, Logic, Cubase, even PT via Refuse...). Not sure about Studio Vision though (does it support Rewire). Meanwhile, what version are you using?... Version 1 used to be really weak in term of sequencer indeed (the damn window couldn't even get expanded!...), but version 2 has, IMHO, brought some improvements...

Yes..., StudioVision Pro. does support rewire. I'm not to familiar (actually I'm not at all familiar) with rewire. I've been under the impression that it's an audio feature aside from midi. Can rewire be used to connect midi?
Now, as far as the new Reason goes..., I'm still using vs. 1.0. I'll be honest with you. I waited & I waited for it to be released. I was so excited until I tried the demo & I wasn't all that impressed with what I saw..., especially for the price.., even as an upgrade. I really expected more from the maker & I was really disappointed. It seemd as though all the "improvements" just braught more complication to the already complicated. Of course.., being able to separate the sequencer window helps..., but that's all it does. I was hoping that the new version might include some extra features like "step recording" & possibly even a new track set up. It's a hassle having to scroll up & down then back again in order to view the individual tracks. I just don't know what's up. One would think that the over-all quality of Reasons sequencability would meet at the same level of excellence as its sounds. Those samples are to die for but the rest of the program just gets in the way. Maybe I'm just old & out dated. Either way.., would you be so kind as to brief me on anything you might know, in regards to, using "rewire & midi" together?
Thanks so much

I don't have much time right now (sorry) but here's the info you need: Rewire will allow you to link Reason to Studio Vision (in term of sync between the two apps and in term of audio connection, thus allowing you to record Reason's sounds directly into Studio Vision). For more infos, go there: http://www.propellerheads.se/products/rewi...wire/frame.htmlHope that will help. PS: BTW, have you checked the two new Sound modules available in Reason 2?... One is a great new sampler (delivered along wit the huge Orkestrer Bank) and the other one is the Maelström, a crazy synth that can also be used to input samples and modifiy them using all the synth's features. Quite good and definitely worth the upgrade in my opinion. See you
