Can anybody out there give me the steps to be able to use my Mac+Logic to be able to `MTC` (midi time code) an external 24 track Tascam 2488Neo digital recorder. Mine is a bit different of a setup than yours. I am running MOTU Digital Performer through a 828 MKII for A/D-D/A conversions. I use the MOTU Time Piece to route MTC to different devices and it works great. It also has a 9-pin output for controlling SONY decks. And it has TC outputs to go directly to outside devises. for slaving machines or A-Dats. Here's something I found on another forum; Syncing a 2488 to logic-8 Might help you some??? |

assuming the tascam digital deck outputs MTC on a standard midi cable, this shouldn't be difficult.
set the deck up as a midi device to your midi interface, and verify it's transmitting MTC. in Logic, there will be a 'slave to sync' command or mode, with several choices. choose midi time code. put Logic in play, and it will be in standby. roll the deck, it'll run. it's been a while, but we used to sync our MOTU Performer files (midi only) to SMPTE audio stripes all the time. |
