Hi to all synth-heads, I'm lucky enough still have the first analogue synthesizer that I bought in 1980. It's a Yamaha CS-15 with two VCOs. The trouble is that I'm unlucky enough that appears to be not working for some reason. I've had it since new and always treated it well, but I stopped using it quite a long time ago and it's been stored for years. I used to love the sound of it, so I took it out fairly recently and turned it on, but it didn't do very much at all. It lights up as it should, but is stuck making just one sort of pulsing sound. It doesn't matter what I do with any of the controls to try to change the sound, it simply keeps making the same one continuously until I turn it off. Ideas anyone? Are they expensive to fix? Who fixes them? Dreamer

One point to know with synth is that even if you don't use them, they will age, especially because you don't use them. Best thing is to power them some hours once a year, or more often if the storage conditions are not 100% perfect. Condos like that. One your issue, as it powers on, you're maybe lucky enough to have little to fix. Are you literate in electronics? I can send you the relevant manuals. Else you can use Synth Repair Services, they have a good reputation (just had a look on the Analogue Heaven mailing list)
