I just bought the upgrade pack from Logic Express 7 to 8....obviously I checked the back for compatability with my powerbook... processor...check....ram...check etc. When I got back home I eagerly tore open the packaging and noticed that you need OSx 10.4.9 and I have 10.3.9...the price sticker was covering this bit of info...doh
Do you reckon Logic express 8 would work in 10.3.9? Or am I going to have to upgrade to Tiger? Cheers for any advice! ps. I'm pretty chuffed that apple have made this version of Logic Express really appealing...fully functional sampler, put in some more synths etc.... can't wait to give it a shot! |

Here's my 2 cents:
As I'm sure you know, system requirements given for any software are the *minimum* specs that will allow the purchaser to use the software or at least use it effectively. It's especially explicit, I think, when it comes to system software requirements, as any Pro Tools user can tell you. Notice that LE8 not only requires Tiger, but 10.4.9 or higher. That implies that even Tiger 10.4.2, for example, would not be sufficient to run Logic. Following that to its logical conclusion I would say that your chances of being able to use LE8 in Panther are slim. Having said that, what have you got to lose by trying to install it on your current rig? It might install or it might tell you that your computer can't handle it and cancel the installation. I think in the long run, however, you're going to have to upgrade to Tiger. By the way, I think you're going to love LE8. I just got it myself and I'm really enjoying it. |

Cheers for the advice. I'll give a shot then...nothing to loose as you say! I was so looking forward to upgrading ES2, better effects, sidechaining....so many great features that LE7 doesn't have....guess I'll have to get Tiger at some point...no cash at the moment though |

Maybe you could get Tiger cheap off ebay, as there is no upgrade path these days there must be some Leaopard u[pgraders with Tiger to sell? Cheers Jake. |

In fact the installer will not run if it doesn't detect 10.4.9 or later.
I have one machine with 10.4.11, and one running leopard, both are stable Ce message a été modifié par gdoubleyou - lun. 4 févr. 2008, 19:40. -------------------- G-Dub
