Hello, I just bought a AKG C680 BL Microphone (Jack stereo Native and XLR adaptator) to record my voice under Windows. As i plug the microphone, i can hear some noisy sound but after i can't hear my voice at all... (i have to scream in the microphone to hear a little of my voice...). It sounds like there is an amplification problem. I also plugued it in my Osprey XLR card , but stil no hear voice at all... Before sending the microphone back to the vendor, i would be glad to read some specialist advises Here are the microphone specs : QUOTE The C 680 BL is a cost-efficient tabletop microphone for inconspicuous installation. QUOTE (lepetitmartien @ Thu 15 Nov 2007, 15:28) Hello
It looks like you miss the preamp in between, the level of the mic is kept low so… Does your soundcard/interface has a Pre? I've had a look at Osprey interfaces and none has, the only one with XLR accepts Line level input, there's not preamp as far as I've seen and you need one. Oh i see, merci lepetitmartien What do i need to Preamp the signal ? Do i need to purchase a specific sound card ? I am totally newbie regarding sound systems. I plan to use this microphone for videoconferencing > the mic will be placed on a rectangular table ... this microphone was supposed to do the business ... i am a bit confused. Thank you for your answer.
