Hi,
I have a powermac G3 upgraded with G4 with mac os 10.2. There are built-in serial and parallel port. I have put the stealth midi driver folder in the SYSTEM/LIBRARY/AUDIO/MIDI DRIVERS/ folder as explained in the stealth package. When I execute the stealth midi setup application, I can see both serial and parallel driver but no driver can be chosen (only “none”) for each port. My opcode studio 4 is connected to the serial port. Is there something else to activate before ? I have already rebooted the mac, tried with serial and parallel checked/unchecked in network configuration. I do not understand why no midi driver is listed ! |

Yikes, I installed Leopard yesterday and have a Radium, also. Without that, my Mac music life is not going to function. I need to see if I have something i can repurpose for a temp controller.
I did go look, and here is what the website says: "Updated 10/26/07 M-Audio has a history of quickly bringing the benefits of significant new advancements in computer technology to the pro audio community—from the advent of USB and FireWire to the release of Mac OS X. We are working closely with Apple to ensure that our products and technologies will support Mac OS X Leopard. Due to the nature of software and driver development, we are not able to provide exact dates for when specific drivers will become available—but please rest assured that supporting Leopard is a top priority for us. As soon as Leopard drivers or updates for any product become available, our Web site will be immediately updated to reflect this. If you choose to install Leopard on your system before your M-Audio product has been qualified for use with the new OS, please be aware that your M-Audio device may not function properly. Please continue to check M-Audio.com for updates." For what it's worth. I guess we can only hope that this means something a lot sooner than six months. I have a client project that's going to cause me trouble within two weeks on this score. Sigh. |

Thea Hardy,
M-Audio has been a big problem for many 440 Members, too many. Normally, most 440 Members join "after" they have made purchases so it is "too late" to warn them of the problems with M-Audio. It seems that the problems really started after OSX Panther 10.3. Are you working with a Laptop or Desktop? Suggestion, take your computer to your Mac Retailer or Music Retailer and see if it works BEFORE purchasing your next Controller. The Sales Reps want to make a sale, so they will get it working. I know its a pain, but will save you time and headaches. Or, take it to your Mac Retailer, most sell "compatible" equipment in their stores now. You still have two weeks before your Project is due, sooooo, "Git movin'". You're not alone, there have been many M-Audio problems mentioned in 440 Forum over the years... |

Thanks, MD,
(which could be Mac Doctor, I suppose) ANy suggestions for a more compatible keyboard that would do the same job simply without a lot of cost? Maybe it's time to switch gears even further. What I will probably do for the client is just not add my usual customized lines and loop create it, but it's annoying. I do think I recall having had some problems before. Again, appreciate it. Thea |
