Hi all, I'm the lucky owner of a Tyros2 and a (G5)Powerbook, but unfortunately I cannot seem to get the Yamaha USB interface working... so far I've managed to get keyboard strokes into Garageband using an M-audio UNO USB Midi interface, but how can I get outgoing sound via Midi to the Tyros? I tested this with QMidi and it worked, so the potential is definitely there, but I can't figure out what settings/drivers to use for getting Garageband to send to the tyros.
Thanks for any help out there! Walter |

Hello Walter,
You got the piece of equipment! But Garageband can't send any midi signals. Read here: "GarageBand is a comparatively simple music program. It can only accept MIDI input. That is, you can connect a MIDI device to GarageBand and play GarageBand's instruments with it, but you can't have GarageBand transmit data back to the MIDI device so it plays music on the device." source: http://www.macjams.com/article.php?story=20040128064923856 I've also Midi Uno, it;s very simple, just plug Uno's "midi out " to keyboards "midi in" and vice versa (Uno's midi in to keys midi out). |
