QUOTE (stephencann @ Mon 16 Apr 2007, 10:41) Hello. I just bought a second hand AMT8 midi interface but it didn't come with a power supply. Anyone know if it needs a specific type or just a regular 9 volt dc (I am in UK).
Thanks I couldn't find any "specs" for the AMT8 online, but I found 2 postings in answer to your question. If you have the owner's manual or specifications, take it with you when you shop for the power adapter. The specs should indicate- 1. The 9vdc. 2. The amperage (900mA or .9A) & 3. The positive + or negative - wiring on the power jack of the AMT8. The new power adapter must be the same for #'s 1 & 3 (above), and come really close to #2 http://logic-users.org/forums/LUG/thread/84257 I have a Korg one (second hand AMT8) with no problems : > Output : 9v , 600mA, 5,4 VA > "+" outside the plug, "-" inside. > Input 13VA , 230V, 50 Hz - for Europe : don't know for Sates as it's > 60 Hz and 110 V … > Hope it helps Mine are the original Emagic PSUs (one now dead after a power failure). Input 230 V 50 HZ, output 9 V AC, 0.9 A, 8.1 VA. I have replaced it with a generic (probably Chinese) one with output 9 V AC, 0.8 A, 7 VA, works fine here. OR- I have a Korg one (second hand AMT8) with no problems : Output : 9v , 600mA, 5,4 VA "+" outside the plug, "-" inside. Input 13VA , 230V, 50 Hz - for Europe : don't know for Sates as it's 60 Hz and 110 V …

Don't take any noise for granted. With a little rythym, it could be music.
