Hi.

Is there a way to send some of the audio processing to my PC so it can take the load off my Powerbook, or can this only be done Mac to Mac ???? I hope not, because my little 12' Powerbook is straining!!

I just got the FULL Logic Pro off Ebay (retail) and I got the MacProVideo series on Logic. Haven't gone through all the videos yet, but man did I learn alot already.

I'd REALLY like to send alot of the processing to my PC, since it's a BEAST.

Thanks in advance for your replies.

Logic Nodes are only Macs but you can still use the PC by sending an audio stream/treating/sending back but you'll have to care of the latency… And of the MIDI automation too…

A good way to walk on the hairy side of things I'd say…

A good use for the PC is to use it for example with Gigasampler (or any other software not on Mac OS) and the PC is just then another instrument you have. you only send the MIDI from the mac to the PC and Audio from the PC to the Mac and everyone is way more happy to deal with less headaches…

Someone has a better idea?

I've been doing research on this myself. Other Logic users are reporting that MidioverLan is a great cross-platform solution. I haven't used it myself but have read up on it this evening and it looks like it just might be what I'm looking for.
