Midi Problem Options

im using protools LE 6.4 for osx with an mbox. The problem is i cant get midi to work with any of the plug-ins especially sampletank. I have the remote 25 plugged in through USB and i dont know if that is the problem but when i tryed to see if the midi connection was working at all i opened a midi track and made it record enabled it gave me a signal so i dont know whut is going on and i dont know very much about that stuff.
another quick question is ... i just got phatmatik pro and i doesnt run. I wanted to know if that was because i needed a vst to rtas converter?
sorry if these sound like dumb questions, but i am new to this stuff and both questions answered would help me out alot !!!

That's a LOT of questions…

- phatmatik, look in /library/audio/plug ins/ in which folder phatmatik is You'll know then…

- have you done the set up in the Audio MIDI set up utility in /apps/utilities?
- if so, I'd trash the prefs com.apple.audio.AudioMIDISetup.plist which are in /users/username/library/preferences/

Also check the MIDI drivers and uninstall them if you ha dinstalled them, and install them back again.

I strongly encourage you to repair permissions using the Apple disk utility too to be sure nothing impairs that way (always do after an install).

restart then set up again…
