hello all, i am a logic newbie. i have connected an oxygen 8 and a yamaha keyboard in order to control two separate midi plug-ins. i am using the oxygen 8 to control BFD and the yamaha for soft synths and etc. I am able to get both routed separately by cabling from the physical input in the environment. I am not able to get them to record in this setup however. In order for my midi to record i had to go to a different environment pane and cable into a sequencer input that was there labeled midi through/recording i believe. I don't understand how to wire the environment such that i will have two separately controlled midi channels recording. Once i get it to record then they are controlled by the same midi device. What is the proper setup, or rather the standard setup as i know there can be different configurations. Also is it possible to record two midi channels at the same time? If someone knows the answer here please help. I know this is an entry level question, but it is seriously hanging me up. Thank you. will

hi...
it's quite easy...u have to create a channelsplitter object in the environment, then route the desired outputs to the audioinstruments that u want to control...just drag+drop the cables....
i hope i understood your question...yes? ....(haven't slept last night...)
tell me, if you can't manage, i can post an screencap...

taiski first off, thank you so much for responding to my post. i couldn't get anyone to help me on a couple of other boards. so i put in a channel splitter in the environment. i cabled from the physical input into the channel splitter and gave each instrument its own midi channel and cabled from the c.s. into the audio instrument tracks. now each controls it's own midi device but as i was saying before i can't get it to record once i do that. i am missing something crucial here. the only way i seem to be able to record midi is to go into the "click and ports" pane of the environment and cable into a device that i can't seem to figure out how to make appear called "to recording and thru". where do i cable from the c.s. to in order for them to record? also, is it possible to record the two tracks simultaneously? thanks again will
