greetings,

in the recent forum regarding digital performer 4.5 versus apple's logic pro 7.1 there were many interesting points made.

unfortunately, I still cannot decide which is best for moi.

if you are able to run both programs, can you be sequencing in dp but still use plug ins and instruments from the logic program?

i am a composer and recording artist.....still working with professional engineers especially when recording piano or vocals.

However, i also score film/tv and write fairly finished songs (for tv shows and cds) from my rig. i was so fortunate to be a "visionary" for eight years now. (right before Opcode went out of business)
i purchased the audio media toolbox with the sample cell library and a G3 .
Now, i just acquired a G5 dual processor 2. with 2 gigs of memory and am ready to go. just have to choose the right software. still will continue to use my sample cell library plus live audio performances on Steinway and vox.

It seems like everybody here in LA uses dp except for two amazing composers that i know of.....but they have round the clock tech support. also, apple offers classes but it is very pricey.

any input would be very appreciated!

thank you.

Well, there are reasons for it. Here is the quote from Macworld:

DP is the undisputed champ on any platform when it comes to matching sound and music to video. Version 4.52 widens DP’s lead with the addition of DV output and the ability to display film or video cues on a separate stave when creating notation.

Version 4.6 is even better.
