Hi,
I was wondering if someone could recommend a good piece of software for me. I am currently using: Traktor DJ Studio Stanton Finalscratch Sonic Foundry CD Architect I have been DJing for a long time and would like to improve some of my mix tapes. I can use TDJ Studio to do mixing, fades, effects, etc. It is a great program, and the fact that it can record my actions to a file is great, but I was wondering if there is an app that will allow me to go back and review my actions, possibly with the ability to edit them without having to rerecord the entire mix session. For example, I would like to do the following: Go back to point X and slowly increase the treble Go back to mixpoint X and give it a "touch" to correct some poor beat matching Go back to mixpoint Y and adjust an effect (for example a bass kill switch) As I've said, Traktor is great, but I can't go back and actually see what I did wrong, nor can I correct the mix for a master tape. CD Architect is nice too, but it is not designed for a DJ and things like tempo adjustments and mix effects are very cumbersome. I understand that some purists might say that I should just work on my skills and redo the session, but what I am working on is fairly technical and I need to be able to slow everything down in order to get it to work correctly. I am using .mp3, .wav, etc for source files. I don't have to use vinyl for tactile feedback, I am content to do the entire mix on the PC as long as I have the ability to go back and correct my errors. Sorry if any of this is confusing. I have PCs and Macs, so ANY app or suggestion would be appreciated. Thank you! |

If I understand what you're looking for, Ableton Live version 5 is perfect for your needs. You can download the demo, or pop in to their forum and ask some questions after perusing through the website. There are numerous videos to get you familiar with it, but again I think it is perfect for your request.
