Hi

Can anyone recommend Audio wave editor software for Mac0SX-panther?

I usually create my own mix CD's recorded live from my two turntables in one take.
I am ideally looking to cut this time down by creating my mixes, (edit/correct errors on an existing audio CD via) my Mac & turntables. I have been searching and have found excellent wave editors for the PC's but can't find any suitable ones for Macs.

Help

Hi

I've been looking for a good wave form editor too. After some research I reckon I reckon I'm gonna go for Bias Peak 4 which from what I've read seems to be the best around on OS X. I haven't had a chance to try it yet but from what I've read it should do everything you're looking for and more. There is also an LE edition which is cheaper and should still do what you are after.

Check out The bias peak web site

There is a pretty good review on the sound on sound web site but you need an esub to access it although I could probably email it to you easy enough. I'll give it ago if you like?

As I said before though I haven't actually tried it so I'm just going on research I've done on the net.

If anyone has any experience of Peak 4 (good or bad) I'd love to hear it before I actually spend the cash.

Cheers

Yeah Mac is a bit lacking in the audio editor department, which totally blows considering how it is touted as a "pro" platform.

Try http://www.hitsquad.com/smm/mac/AUDIO_EDITORS/ for a list of editors.

If you have Logic you may want to wait until Logic 7 before you make your mind up as it is suposed to have Waveburner built into it.

As a former employee of a music store, Bias Peak was strongly recommended to me by our software distributors for wave editing. I have it installed on my 12" G4 powerbook; however, I have not used it extensively. The times i have used it, it has performed very well. The interface is similar to Sound Forge and is easy to navigate. To date I have had absolutely no problems running it in Panter. Hope this helps a bit!

I have used PEAK for several years. 4.1 is the one you want. Easy to learn, great for editing samples, comes with many plugins and imports VST and AU plugins and has many DSP funtions. Now that SPARK has been discontinued, PEAK is the only professional editor I know of for MAC. I do CD mastering for a living and I coun't live with out it.
