Every once and a while in Pro Tools LE I get this message:

Audio processing is conflicting
with other CPU tasks. If this
occurs often, reducing the "H/W
Buffer Size" in the Playback
Engine Dialog may help
prevent the problem. (-9129)

I do as I am instructed, then I try pressing play and this message pops up:

The operating system held off
interrupts for too long. If this
occurs often try increason the
"H/W Buffer Size" in the
Playback Engine Dialog.
(-9094)

so I switch back the buffer size to 1024, and that usually takes care of the problem, but every once and a while it doesnt, and I get a nasty cycle between these two messages.

Im running Pro Tools LE 6.2.2 on a dual 1.8 G5 (512MB RAM) using it with Reason Adapted. This hasn't been a huge problem, but I am considering using my M-box for live shows, and that would be really bad if does that in the middle of a song. The only solution I can think of would be getting more RAM, but 512MB seems like a reasonable amount, and I am usually only working with, at tops, seven tracks.

any help is appreciated

I've been getting these messages in OS 9 on a regular basis. Anyone know of a fix in OS 9? If not, I might have to take the leap when the new G5's come out and upgrade the system.

I also had this problem in os 9.1 increasing, decreasing. I think it might have been related to using a fiber optic in from my QSR module. Going analogue in now and haven't gotten the message in 2 days.. using PT 5.01 with a stripped down system. Disabled everything but core stuff and still got the message till I tried this. My #1 rule ..check the wires first. Using a yikes 350 G4. Are you using any fiber in's?

Not using any fiber in's, but I do have an ATTO ultrawide SCSI card installed in my sawtooth 400 G4. Although this is a qualified card with digi, do you think it would still be possible for it to interfere with hardware communications? In a similar situation, I installed an Encore 1.2 GHz G4 processor upgrade and had problems even starting up my mac. The guys at sonnet said some SCSI cards aren't compatible with their upgrade cards, but I took the damn thing out and tried the processor upgrade again and no such luck. It forces me to believe my next move may be my best move...upgrade to the new and upcoming G5 (when it eventually comes out) and the digi002r.

haven't seen any documentation regarding this problem. It is part of the digital voodoo. Under the full moon... unplug your keyboard and recite ... I just want to go from point a to point b. Yes, the G5 is looming in my future too. But, then is it logic and firewire 410 or the 002... 32 track limit and lack of surround (ok, I'm not scoring StarWars episode III).. is putting me off of the 002. Logic seems to have intense support from Apple in a microsoft way with undeniable final cut integration. This next machine has to last me at least 3 years. Digi 001 all problems aside, was a great step up for me. good luck
