Hi, I was wondering if someone could please help me! I don't know if I am in the right place but I was pointed in this direction. Firstly I have Windows XP. I was wondering if anyone had a program that could take the words out of the song but still have the background music? The problem is for my sister's dance project she is going to use the song "Mack The Knife" but she doesn't want the words just the accomplying music. Does anyone know how this can be done? what programs (free is possible) can do this?
Thanx in Advance
Terry

Usually voices are centered if you do a bit of substraction and addition you can remove it. it works ok if the voice is centered and mono in a stereo file. You have the picture.

Any audio editor supporting stereo can do that, now on XP… blink.gif

In theory if you have two identical signals, invert one 180 degrees. the signals will cancel each other out.

There used to be devices that could do it for phonographs, not sure what could be done with a digital file.

Well go for the details!

if you add 2 identical signals, one inverted, you end up with silence. Practically if you do the same on your files you end up with a mono file without the voice if it is exact center and mono (the voice), now…

There are plug ins that do these things but right now here… (and on a PC unsure.gif

But a little search on google (voice cancellation) gave me THIS, it should do your job with a complete walkthrough by hand in an editor. rolleyes.gif

Isn't life wonderfull? biggrin.gif

Yes, i can help you with that. Try buying Adobe Audition 2.0 or 3.0. It is made for proffessional, sound editing and mastering. You can use it for voice removal. =)
I suggest you go to. www.pc-soft.ru and look it up. Enjoy wink.gif
