Hi All !!
Im using GarageBand on MBP 2.2 OS X10.5Nicky to write, indie-pop, rock & country songs - but starting to find the drum loops originally provided with the program a bit limiting - as ive found my core favourites - which are hard to deviate from. But I realise I need some variation in the drums so Im looking for advice on drum loops. Can anyone recommend compatible software with GarageBand, (drag and drop drum loops) Also, a friend is suggesting I go buy the logic studio 8 which has all jam packs including Rhythm Jam Pack, - but im hesitating not only cos' i havent the dosh right now, i just dont think i'll make best use of it. Garage Band is great for recording easily - and im imagining logic is fidderly - and like the name suggests - more suited to pro's - whereas demo quality good enough for me. Really appreciate any advice on this Nicky |

It's definitely worth just getting the first 2 Jampacks to use in GB. These will give you access to more drum kits, loops and remix tools.

Dear Nicky, sounds to me like your head is in the right place regarding "Upgrading".
Use GarageBand until you surpass it's capabilities. When your Demo needs require "more" the transition will be natural... Take your time, learn to use one thing at a time. I have Software I've never explored! 440 Forum Member: Jimdubpram(garagebandman) must be as close to a GarageBandPro as anyone. GarageBand is all he uses, unless he has "Outgrown" it??? Knowing him, he's still mixin', fixin' tweakin' n Geekin' it.... He's a scientist of sound... Ska, Reggae, House Thang... "Out There"... Dosh... Haven't heard that word since I was in Oz. If you're an Aussie, g'daymatehowzitgoincobber? If you're from Sunny England I know the extra Dosh is tight... You can end up paying a months rent for the price of an "Upgrade"! Damn!!!!! |
