Hi there, so we're shortly going to do our first podcast here. we have two microphones (both with jack plugs, as in putting them into line in 3 and or 4) Plugged into a firebox. I'm on mac os 10.5.2, and I can't get any output at all, I can't figure out how to set it up so that I have the mics as input (from 3 and 4 Line In). and then output them from the laptop speakers?

would need help on this asap please, and any more information you folks need from me, I'll try to explain. thanks smile.gif

mechcon,

Have you made sure to look at your Audio MIDI set-up configuration? It's found in the Utilities folder inside the Applications folder. Depending upon what audio software you are using, you may need to declare your outputs in their channel/bus set-ups.

Hi mechcon,

If i'm reading you correctly you are trying to monitor a recording session from your fireboxc on you inbuilt laptop speakers. This is not possible as far as i'm aware; the laptop speakers are connected to, and powered by the macs onboard audio chipset. So unless you can share those resources somehow with the firebox using the aggregate device editor in your audio/midi preferences (unlikely sad.gif )

You will only be able to monitor the mix through the main outputs of your firebox and even then you will have had to have set the firebox up as your preferred device in the audio preferences and the preferences in your recording software. you can monitor the mix this way using a pair of powered monitors, an amp and passive monitors or just a pair of headphones.

hope this helps smile.gif
