Hi - I recently purchased a G5 & Logic Express with a Firewire 410 interface. I'm using a Fantom X7 and various modules for composing. My goal is to get a song from the Fantom sequenser into Logic for final mix, effects etc and possibly back to the Fantom for live performance. I'm having problems with finding and quick and easy way to do this. I've tried transfering as MIDI files but lost the original sound and I am now trying to record fron the squenser one track at a time into Audio tracks but this is very tedious. Is there a better way to do this??

Hey Ed,

You need to send MIDI time code/clock out of Logic and put your hardware synth into slave mode. Run an audio cable out of your synth into the audio interface, enable a track in Logic for recording, and repeat the process till all the tracks from the MIDI device are recorded.

There really is no easy way of doing this.

***If you don't actually want to record the synth, then simply put run Logic and the hardware synth together via MIDI time code/clock.
