Hello,
Cubase sx reports "cannot connect to core audio. you should restart system". My audio midi setup utility crashes when loading. I deleted that preferences file everybody talks about and also the midi configurations file, in library. I'm on a powerbook g4 1.5ghz 15" OS X 10.3.9, with a Firewire 410, BUT even when interface not connected and audio workstation software not running, I get no midi with OS X. I had an OS X software (security) update a few days ago. It was ok before that. So maybe it's that? |

I would do a few things that are elementary: 1st, check all cables. 2nd, if core isn't starting or rather audio/midi setup is crashing when loading, and you've gone into utilities, and MIDI and the set up is right, and everything is still not working . . . then you may want to go into utilities, run first aid, restart -- and if still not working delete and re-install everything involving MIDI / Audio. When you deleted those files, did you replace them ? I would re-install cubase and definitly replace your tossed midi/audio preference file(s). get thee to a mac genius -- well, one with references lol. A lot of the genius guys have zippo backround in the audio world except with garageband -- good luck !!

Thanks for reply. That stuff is handy to know.
It seems my Firewire 410 driver was corrupt. Replaced it and it's back on track. |
