Hello,

I have this equipment:

Apple PowerMac G5 with OS X 10.3.6
Garage Band
Esi M4U Midi Controller
Yamaha P80 Stage Piano
Yamaha Clavinova CVP 107 Piano

When I record a Midi track in Garage Band the midi input is not very loud. The loops are much louder. I found out that the velocity values sent by the Yamaha instruments are not very high - below 100 even if I play very hard. I can set the velocity of the piano to a fixed value of 127, but this is no solution...

Has anyone an idea how to solve this problem?

Years ago I actually bought a small hardware midi box (I think it was made by midi solutions) that would boost the velocity level of my yamaha kx-5 as I played.

Short of that, once you've recorded your midi data, most sequencers allow (I use digital performer) allow you to massage the midi data afterwards so you could just boost the midi velocity level after the fact....
