I have a Powerbook G3 400mhz, and once upon a time I would dial into websites and the music programmed to run MIDI files in my computer played lovely music. I must have done something wierd because now all I get is a 'plink plink' sound when I'm in these same websites. Is there a way I can reset or default the settings for this? Thanks all.....m

I'm running quicktime 5.0.2, and the settings I would check are like this:
1 go into the quicktime settings control panel
2 from the popup menu select music (you should see quicktime synthesizer listed in the window, if you dont the next step will fix that, and make sure its set correctly)
3 hit the 'edit list' button at the bottom of the window
4 the first device listed should be quicktime synthesizer, synthesizer should be set to 'quicktime synthesizer'
hit ok, and your set

if quicktime synthesizer is not listed select add, and add quicktime synthesizer as ive described it above
I hope this solves you problem. If this does not work, or seems to be set correctly your quicktime instruments may be damaged, and perhaps removing and reinstalling quicktime may help. Goodluck!
