i've been trying that recently, but according to the logic manual you should set all tempos before recording audio tracks. trying to adjust it afterwards is "a great deal of hassle". it doesn't explain any further. there are ways of monitoring with the click, and adjusting the length of the audio file using Audio>Object>Adjust object length using locators or to nearest bar when it's right. but it's not ideal, and can be long winded.

Using the "adjust object lenght" feature is a good start. However with A Capella you might want to check every couple measures that the tempo is still the same. It's tedious but you may want to do measure by measure and insert the tempo in the tempo editor. If you record audio afterwards you will be able to use the metronome to keep you in sync with the a capella audio.

I find if you cut the vocal so it starts on a bar line just leave a click on and play around with the tempo on the control strip! It normal only takes a minute to find the bpm of the vocal/or track.
