Help! Midi Edirol Um-1 Not Working In Mac Panther, Midi Edirol UM-1 not working in OSX.3 Options

I have a G5 desktop and a G4 laptop running the latest Mac OS, v.10.3.2.

Neither of them sees my Roland keyboard A-37 through an Edirol UM-1. The G5 gives me an error "interface improperly loaded" when I try to update the UM-1 driver to version 1.1.1.

My keyboard was working under OS 10.2.

What could be the cause?

The System Profiler does not see the keyboard.
