I hope I'm doing this correctly. I've never belonged to a forum before.
I'm using Digital Perfromer 2.72. It had worked perefectly for me for 2 years. No problems. Then, I changed my operating system from OS9 to OS9.2. Now it freezes up so badly I can't use it at all. I've tried everrything MOTU has suggested. Interestingly, sometimes (not always) it creates a huge (2 GB) Sounddesigner II file (even if I'm not recording). The file is a crazy mix of audio from all kinds of differetnt DP projects, some of them slowed way down, some at normal speed, white noise, clicks. It's weird! What do you think is going on.
Thanks,
Sam

It is time to move to DP 4 with OSX 10.3. I had problems with Dp 2.7 and 9.2 also. MotudidnotgetDP3 quite right ether, but DP 4.12 works real well. Osx 10.3 is a nice operating system, easy to get around.Os9 with it's extentions is the pits compared to 10.3.
If you have to stay with 9, you may want to wipe your hard drive and do a clean install. Oh it is not a bad idea to do a clean install for 10.3.
Tiger is comming out soon, may be a bit improved.

Thanks tunetwister. I'll seriously consider the suggestion. I hate upgrading anything because it always seems to cause so much chaos. I hate to think I'll need to upgrade my notation program, Finale, too. And all my other stuff. Did most of your other applications work on OSX or do you still use 9 for some things?
Thanks,
Sam

Most programs worked in Classic mode, basicaly running OSX and 9 at the same time and letting OSX control 9. Funny but it seems like 9 apps. actualy run better in Classic. Although I have some programs that run in 9, I never boot up in 9, just run them in Classic. I do not ever want to boot in 9 again, OSX is so much better. I did upgrade most of my programs to OSX although.
At first there were a some problems with a few programs in OSX but now they are running exccelent, very few crashes in a well maintained computer. No extention conflicts ect. also it is less work to keep OSX running well. Oh I also have 1 windows computer running XP-pro and it is WAY MORE WORK to keep running right.

Thanks tuneswister. I'll probably do that.
