 Sync Digital Audio In Dp4.12, best alternative midi/audio sync? |

Disclaimer: I'm new at this.
I'm recording midi and digital audio in DP4.12. The audio is drifting apart from the midi. Apparantly the two clocks are not in sync. I've read through the DP manual and there are a few different methods of syncing midi and digital audio. I'm looking for advise and suggestions here. Can you experts tell me what you think is the best choice for syncing the two? Would it be a better alternative to record audio on an external device rather than chewing up all that disc space? What about syncing? I saw the Digital Timepiece by Motu. Would it do the trick for me?
