Hi,

Need to know what firewire audio interface works with my specs. Need 7 mic inputs (mics could connect to interface by jack, but I prefer using XLR) and 2 Line inputs simultaneously to record to powerbook.

Any advice appreciated
Thanks

Adam

Thanks for reply. I found the perfect device, the MOTU 896HD. Digi 002 is good but I don't want to pay that much and use protools. I am a logic person.

Please could I have peoples opinions on the MOTU 896HD or any other firewire audio interface which does:

- 8 mono XLR inputs with mic pre-amp, phantom power optional and trim on each.
- 1 mono Hi-Z guitar input or 1 mono line in jack input or 1 digital (coaxial or optical) input. All options with trim
- All inputs simultaneously recorded to HD
- Peak indicator light on all inputs
- 2 stereo jack send and returns
- Stereo Main / Monitor out with output volume control
- Headphone out with volume control
- 24bit 44.1kHz+
- Logic and mac compatible

All inputs simultaneously recorded to HD

I have a Motu 828-MK-I, it works fine although it is limited in flexibility compared to to HD-896 or 828-MK-II. It sounds good to me, as well. I think it' fair to say - good value for money.

Judging from postings on various forums it seems folks with very high proffessional standards,
pro recording - broadcast quality etc., think the pre-amplifiers are bit weak.
(they go for Apogee Rosetta:s or better stuff = EXPENSIVE)
