Hey, Jason
I just read your post about your preference for PRO TOOLS Free Version, so I went and downloaded a copy (along with all the other downloads that come with it).
I'm on a MAC G4 and just this week I've started looking for a good editing program. PRO TOOLS Free Version looks like the best thing I've seen so far, but I'm having trouble opening a song file to work with.
My song files are AIFF ... I've looked through the manual, but I can't seem to figure out how to import my AIFF files ... can you help me out? What am I not doing right?

Never mind ... I just figured out that I have to boot my Mac in OS 9 in order for me to convert my AIFF files.
I'm in OS X and usually OS 9 programs just open in Classic mode ... but when it comes to converting sound files (like this, or when making mp3s) I have to change my Start Up disc to OS 9.

actually... you don't want to just double click an .aiff file and have protools free open it... first... try starting a new session and then goto menus at top to file>import audio to track and then select the .aiff file and it will convert into SDII format (depending on files settings but this is default)
