Hi,
I am trying to record audio in Digital Performer 3 on top of beats created in Propellorhead's Reason. So Reason comes through via 'rewire' without any problems, until I listen back to what I've recorded and there is a VERY noticable time difference between the 2 programs. It's in sync when I'm recording but well off when I listen back.
I've tried inputting through a mixer and also just directly recoding audio in to my iMac through the built in mic input .
Does anyone else have this issue?
These programs should be compatible.
Thanks in advance.

I have noticed that MANY apps don't seem to work well with others and for that reason I try to avoid using one app through another. I use Reason but also use ProtTools which the 2 are not compatible at all. So, I output my Reason audio directly out of Reason then import the files into ProTools with no problems. I might suggest you try doing the same as well. The audio output from Reason is very clean especially when you consider it can output 24bit up to 96k sampling. Sometimes simplicity is bliss especially when dealing with computer technology.

thanks synthetic,
i have actually done what you suggested with pro tools too, but digital performer and reason are made to be compatible.
it makes experimentation more difficult doing what you suggest. i like to switch back and forth between programs editing as i go.

Sorry couldn't be more of assistance. I have noticed though that many loops I find that claim to be a certain BPM appear a little off in ProTools according to the quantitizing grid at the same tempo. I still haven't quite figured out if certain apps calculate BPM differently than others which may the same thing you are experiencing.
