What hardware would I need to connect a 867 quicksilver g4 to a PC w/usb dsl and share the connection.
I was thinking I could get an airport base station and a PC version 802.11g usb wireless ... Please let me know. Scotty |

First off, you need a wireless router for your DSL/cable modem. There are a number of inexpensive ones that work with both Mac and Windows. Mac/PC Mall is selling a factory refurb D-link 614 for $39!
You could go direct to the PC with an ethernet cable. Most WiFi routers have 3 or 4 ethernet ports in addition to the wireless. You could stick with the Apple airport card for the G4, or try a third party USB device. The hubs seem pretty easy to configure--I have not used non-apple Wifi cards in the workstations. What the heck. Buy it and try it, and if it doesn't work, take it on back. --------- Bruce Kaplan ClaudiaRussell.com/FolknRoll |

Scotty --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hi, I use the Ariport base station with 2 Macs and 1 PC... The base station has an ethernet cable port for direct connections, so you don't need a wifi reciever for the PC or Mac.. I have my PC directly wired to the ariport Base station, and my Macs are equipped with the airport card.. It was real easy to set up.. the PC s in the same room as the cable modem I have, and one mac is upstairs, while the powerbook is where ever.. s Saurabh -------------------- Saurabh Sethi
