Hi:

I would love some good reference material on mixing inside of a DAW, especially those that run on a Mac. I'm coming from Sonar 7 to DP 6.

any recommendations?

I use the best soundcard for that, Metric Halo ULN-8. It's about $5995 but you have everything, in best quality.
