I've got a question regarding East West Platinum Symphony. I just installed it on a new Mac Quad G5 desktop with 4.5G RAM, running it in Logic Pro 7.1, and the snaps, crackles and pops are just terrible. The samples are running from an external Maxtor FW800 drive. I can't even play 2 notes without the yellow DFD light flashing and going from yellow to red as the sounds just die. I've messed with the latency settings in the Audio Hardware control panel in Logic to no avail. I've been running these same samples on my 3-year-old G4 laptop just fine (1.33 Ghz, 2G RAM)

Is there a setting I'm missing, or something I should know about the NI Kompakt player that will allow me to actually use these samples?

Thanks for any info you can supply!

Sincerely,
hahaworld

hahaworld it's good to hear/see you are not having problems with your Quad. Software issues are not too much of a problem. Usually a "click" or Download "Fix" away.

I'd like to hear more about your Quad. Have you loaded all your Software? Is it working? Which OSX? Is the Quad more quiet, less, about the same? What do you think of the 'New' Bluetooth Mighty Mouse? I'm really liking the Quad Stats. Wicked Machine.

Make sure that you have downloaded apple's Pro software support that pertains to version 7.1

Did you go to the East West site and download the most recent DFD file? With the new Pro XP Editions, the DFD is embedded in the program much like Kontakt 2. Older Kompakt players (such as the one used in Platinum) required a separate download to incorporate the DFD function into the Kompakt player. Go to the East West site and look for "updates" or "technical help". All of the files you need should be there.
