Hi.
Just bought an M-Audio FW410 and a Studio Projects C1 mic, but I'm having some problems with these two.
Everything works just fine, I have great sound from the computer, the line works perfect (tryed with my guitar), but the mic has a problem. I keep getting an annoying "sssss" sound every time I arm an audio track to record. This is not some noise from the computer or other hardware... I have complete silence in the studio.
This might be a configuration problem with the 410 preferences, but I'm kind of new to this, and mybe I'm missing some little important detail...
I know this is really vague, but if anyone could help me, I'd apreciate.

Is the mic isolated properly with a shockmount (I know the C1 has one)?
Is it close to any sort of noise (drive, computer etc, and the gain is up?
Is it directed in the direction of the monitoring? (bad larsen idea)
You may have a noise loop too. Check that all the electrical grounds are in a star config.
