HI,
I'M LOOKING FOR SOME INFOS ABOUT DIFFERENCES BETWEEN MICROWAVE 1, 2 AND XT, FOR TONE AND FEATURES.
SOME FRIEND OF MINE HAD THE MICROWAVE 1 AND THE XT, YEARS AGO AND WHAT I RECALL WAS THAT THE MW1 HAD A BETTER TONE, WITH AN ANALOG FILTER BUT HAD SOME DISPLAY ISSUES AS WELL.
I SAW THERE IS A 2.0 UPDATE FOR THE MW1 OS BUT I DON'T KNOW IF IT'S THE BEST OS FOR THE MW1 ?
I REMEMBER THEY WERE USING THE MW1 ESPECIALY FOR PUNCHY AND FAST BASSES BUT I DON'T KNOW IF THE MW1 IS AS GOOD AS THE XT FOR NOISES AND TEXTURES (EXCEPT THE CONTROLLERS).
I READ THE MW2 IS JUST A LIGHTER MW XT, WITH SAME TONE BUT LESS FEATURES.

ARE THEY RELIABLE OR ARE THEY BUGGY ?

so, nobody knows about the tone and feature differences between these 3 synths ?
i'd like to know if the MW1 sounds as good or better than the MW XT for bleeps and noises as i think it might already be better for basses

I'm challenged in the microwave II department… never heard the thing…

XT can be buggy, very buggy, but it depends on the unit you stumble upon, non buggy work ok. It is way harsher than the microwave I, it exudes digital. XT interface is way more practical though of course.

Given your listenings habits, I'd go microwave 1…

On the OS versions, I can't tell, I have no recollection of problems in the 1, but I may be wrong.

thanks for your help.
what would i do without you on this forum ? lol
i saw that there are much less people on these computer/software/synth ...forums than on the vintage amp forums about marshall, vox, fender, hiwatt...
there are tons of post and infos on their forums.

yes , that's what i was recalling about microwave synths.
the 1 is sounding more analog but less easy to control without knobs and has less features than the 2 and XT..
i read the last microwave 1 OS was better, with more features.

i'm looking for this synth as wavetable synth for FX textures, noises and bleep bleeps, though it can be good for "plastic" basses.

i may have found a very rare small (2 vco's) polyfusion modular synth for sell and i might buy it if the tone is really gooood !!
also i'm looking for a multimoog but missed one recently (shit !!)

To be short I'd say the mircrowave 1 is more organic less gritty yet retains some of the wavetables texture, and the XT is digital agressive.

Down with one knob interfaces! laugh.gif
