I have IMac G4 800 Flat Panel 15' Mhz and iBook 12' G4 1.0 Mhz

planning to purchase Logic 7 Pro,
what to expect on theese configurations... do not have a cash for G5
yet...?

My daily use is usually going to be , recording up to 8 multi tracks of 24bit audio ,
and mixin' it using EQ's and one high quality reverb (Space Designer) + few mastering plugins . or using few virtual instruments with few audio tracks.
Is this real on my macs.... or should i forget about it and saving for
G5...?

thanks for your input

How much RAM does each have, and are you going to be recording each track individually or all at once?

Yes. Definitely realistic.

As long as you're only recording 8 tracks simultaneously, it probably shouldn't be a problem on the iMac, and if the external harddisk is 7200 rpm it shouldn't be a problem on the iBook either.
You probably won't have any problems running the plug-ins you're talking about either.

But don't expect it to handle too many instances of the biggest Logic plug-ins too well (Sculpture, Space Designer). I usually have to freeze if using more than two or three instances of these plug-ins.
