440 Forums _ Pro Tools _ Protools 6.0, Rewire, And Reason

Écrit par : s_o_n ven. 21 févr. 2003, 02:02

Is this possible? And if not, how do I get Reason tracks into Protools? Right now, I'm running Digi 001, Reason, and using an Oxygen8 controller.

Thanks for any input!!!

I don't think PT6 has brought any Rewire compatibility... )-:
But you can still use Refuse (which is now OSX compatible):

i've read somewhere at www.propellerheads.se that Digidesign is working on Rewire2 compatibility, but for now you have to stick with Logic or Cubase..

To get your Reason tracks, you'll need to export them as audiofiles, and import them into PT.

From digi site :
"we announced a cooperation with Propellerhead Software that will bring ReWire to the Pro Tools Mac and Windows platform in the second half of 2003. (...) At least you finally get to use all this cool existing stuff like Reason and Live with Pro Tools!"

ReWire is all well and good, but it can really slow down your machine running two demanding apps. If you're on an reasonably specced Mac - even something form the last year or so - you can still find it hard going.

Exporting as audio from Reason works for me. I don't bother with ReWire, even though my sequencer supports it.

Thank you ALL for your replies. Every one of my questions were answered. I'll look into ReFuse, wait for the second half of 03 and try exporting my Reason tracks as audio and then dumping them into PT and see which works best for me,. You all are Great!
